#2 – Humidity Management: Tools & Tech

One the first steps to reduce risk and increase production in your indoor growing environment is to take a proactive approach to managing humidity. Humidity is an important concern for indoor growers. This course will help you understand the issue of humidity by explaining what humidity is and how it affects your plants. This will provide you with the basis you need to make informed humidity management decisions based on your environment. Then, we’ll dive into the solutions – humidity management tools and technology that will help you save on energy and avoid crop loss. Take this course.

#3 – HVAC Design for Indoor Growers

Humidity management and HVAC go hand-in-hand. One of the primary advantages of growing crops indoors is the ability to control the climate regardless of location or outdoor conditions.  The parameters most frequently controlled are air temperature, humidity, airflow, carbon dioxide, and air quality.  This course will introduce these HVAC design concepts and systems used for managing the climate of an indoor growing operation.

#4 – Lighting for Upstart Farmers

As an indoor grower, you’ll need to provide supplemental light to your plants. Deciding which lighting type to use in your farm is a big decision and requires an understanding of many factors. In this course, you’ll learn about the relationship between light and plants, about the various types of supplemental lighting (like LEDs and HID), and about the related “nuts and bolts” of lighting (like electricity requirements, heating and cooling, installations, and more).

#5 – LED Lighting for Indoor Farmers

We’ve found that LED lighting is the best choice for most growers we work with. In this course, learn more about LED lighting specifically to determine if LEDs are right for you. You’ll also learn how you can manipulate plant growth with LEDs.

#6 – Farm Compliance & Food Safety

This one may seem a bit random, but it’s important to consider! Whether you’ve built your indoor farm or are starting to design it, it’s important to consider food safety and compliance. In this course, compliance expert Nicole Day Gray will help you understand food safety and compliance, GAP, HACCP, and other specific food safety plans, sanitation procedures, food defense programs, and considerations for grocery stores.
