A legal research how-to
The ability to do legal research doesn’t necessarily require a law degree. In fact, with so many aspects of a farm business having regulating laws it is important for you, as farmer, to know how to do some of your own legal research. Things like zoning, business filing, taxes, and employee regulations and laws all play into running an Upstart farm.
This course is designed for anyone starting or running a farm and it will outline a strategy for conducting your own legal research, discuss some of the resources you’ll need and how to access them, and apply what we’ve learned by answering a simple legal question.
In this course you will:
- Master how to conduct legal research
- Learn about the different types of laws
- Find out how to access the law and what sources exist for you
- Practice the application of these skills
To learn about more areas of business operations might require doing some legal research check out our Ultimate Guide to Starting a Farm!
This course is taught by Perry Skorcz*.
*I AM NOT A LAWYER, NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN A LAWYER, AND NOTHING IN THIS COURSE SHOULD BE CONSTRUED AS LEGAL ADVICE
